What we do

One crew for everything poured.

From a single accent slab to a full exterior resurface, prep, pour and protect, all under one roof. Every service below carries the same quality promise.

The honest call

New pour, level, resurface, or just a crack?

Here is the sentence most contractors won’t open with: all concrete cracks. The craft is deciding where, and knowing which cracks matter.

New pour

Won underground.

What counts
Base depth & compaction, slab thickness, reinforcement, cure time
You’ll see
None of it, which is why it belongs in the quote

Two identical-looking driveways part ways in year three, at the base nobody photographed. Paper is where you check it.

Leveling

Sunken beats replaced.

When
Slab settled but sound: a dropped walkway, tilted patio, trip lip
Gains
Lifted in hours at a fraction of a new pour

If the slab itself is crumbling, lifting it just raises the problem. Honest firms check before they jack.

Resurface

New face, old bones.

When
Surface scaling, stains, tired finish, but structurally sound
Gains
Overlay or stamped finish without demolition

Decorative finishes want resealing every few years. Skip it and the photo from install day stays a photo.

Cracks

Most are cosmetic. Some talk.

Fine
Hairlines within a panel, at control joints, doing their job
Not fine
Wide, offset in height, growing, or wet from below

A crack you can catch a coin in, or a lip you can trip on, is worth a look. The rest is concrete being concrete.

Someone knocking with “leftover concrete from a job nearby”? That’s a classic, real crews don’t have leftovers, they have schedules.

The breakdown

What moves the number.

No mystery math. Four things decide what a concrete job costs, and we walk every one with you before the quote lands.

Access & tear-outGetting the truck, and often a pump, to the pour, plus breaking out and hauling any old slab, is much of the day.
Base & drainageExcavation, gravel base and proper compaction are the hidden work under every slab that stays flat and level.
Size & thicknessSquare footage, slab depth and the rebar it needs for the load it has to carry.
Finish & detailBroom, exposed aggregate or stamped and colored, decorative work is hand work, and worth it.

Whatever the mix, you get one clear quote, in writing, before any work starts.

What a serious concrete quote includes, ours or anyone’s:
  • Slab thickness in inches, written down
  • Mix strength (PSI) and reinforcement, named
  • Base: how deep, what material, how compacted
  • Control joints: where and how many
  • Old concrete haul-away, in or out, stated
  • Cure plan: when you can walk it, when you can drive it
Everything that decides how long concrete lasts is invisible by the weekend. The quote is the only place you ever get to inspect it.

Recent jobs

Real work, in plain numbers.

Three jobs from the past few months, what they were, where, and how long they actually took.

Driveway tear-out & repour
Woodstock·2 days

Broke out a cracked 1950s driveway, regraded and compacted the subgrade, then poured a 4-inch broom-finished slab over #4 rebar on chairs. Control joints saw-cut the next morning at the right spacing so it cracks where we tell it to, not where it wants to.

Stamped patio, large
Laurelhurst·4 days

Formed a 480 sq ft patio, poured 4000 psi with integral charcoal color and a slate stamp pattern, then release powder and a matte cure-and-seal. Tooled the perimeter, pitched it a quarter-inch per foot away from the house, with an expansion joint set clean against the foundation.

Settled step repair
St. Johns·3 hours

Front stoop had sunk and cracked at the cold joint. Routed the crack to a clean V, packed and mortared the void, and resurfaced the tread with a polymer-modified overlay feathered to match. Non-slip broom drag on top so it is safe wet.

Where we work

Proudly serving the Portland metro

A lot of our work comes from a neighbor who watched us pour the house next door. If you're in the metro, we're just around the corner.

Clay soil that swells all winter and dries hard in August is what moves slabs around here — the reason base prep and drainage decide more than the mix ever will.

How it goes

From first call to done.

No mystery in the middle. This is the path the job actually takes, start to finish.

01
The site walkthroughday 1

We come out, walk the whole area with you, and take grade and drainage readings so nobody's guessing. You tell us how you'll use the space and we flag anything that changes the pour, like a soft spot or a downspout draining the wrong way.

02
Quote lands in writingwithin a day or two

You get a clear quote on paper with the concrete PSI, base depth, square footage, rebar or mesh, and finish spelled out line by line. No verbal numbers and no allowances that balloon later.

03
Permits, layout and forms1-2 weeks out

We pull any city permit, call in the utility locates, then set and stake the forms so you can see the exact footprint and slope before a single truck rolls. This is your last easy chance to move a line.

04
Pour dayday of the job

Crew preps the base, places rebar, and pours in one continuous run, then floats, edges and finishes to the texture on your quote. We cut the control joints before we leave so the slab cracks where we tell it to, not where it wants to.

05
Cure, walkthrough and warrantybefore we leave, plus a 7-day check

We strip the forms, haul off every scrap, and walk the finished slab with you against the quote. You get the written workmanship warranty in hand plus a one-page cure-and-seal sheet, and we swing back around day seven to confirm it set clean.

Before you hire anyone

Five questions for every concrete crew.

Including us. Concrete is the one trade where every corner that gets cut is invisible by Saturday. Five questions make the invisible part show up on paper.

01How thick, what PSI, what reinforcement?

Three numbers, ten seconds. If they’re not in the quote, whatever gets poured is whatever was on the truck.

02What happens under the slab?

Excavation depth, base material, compaction. The pour is the photo, the base is the lifespan.

03Where will the control joints go?

All concrete cracks. Joints decide where, on purpose. A crew with no joint plan has handed the decision to the weather.

04When can I walk on it, and when can I park on it?

Days, not hours, and a pro says the numbers unprompted. Anyone waving you onto young concrete is spending your money.

05Did you knock on my door with “leftover concrete”?

Then this list is over. It’s the oldest driveway scam in the book, real crews order to the job, not the other way around.

Bring this list to the estimate. We’ll answer all five before you ask.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Getting started
Do you charge for estimates?+
No. Written estimates for driveways, patios, slabs and commercial pours are always free, we visit, measure, talk through finishes and layout, and email you a clear, itemized quote with no obligation.
How soon can you start?+
Most estimates go out within a day, and typical projects are scheduled within one to two weeks. For urgent resurfaces, before a move, a sale or an event, just tell us the date and we'll do our best to fit you in.
What does “free estimates” mean?+
Before any work begins, we give you one clear quote to approve, prep, materials and labor included. No hourly meter, no surprise add-ons at the end. You always decide before we start.
What should I do before the pour?+
Clear cars off the old surface and give us gate access, we handle utility locates before any digging. On pour day, keep pets and kids clear until it cures past footprint stage.
Can you give a price over the phone?+
A realistic range from measurements and photos, yes. The quote lands after the free site visit, in writing, before a form is set.
What happens during the site visit?+
Grades shot, soil probed, drainage traced, measurements taken, fifteen minutes, then a plain-English quote with the section drawing so you see what you are buying.
How long does a driveway take?+
Tear-out and base one day, pour the next, cutting the day after, drivable in a week. You will know the plan and the cure dates up front.
Do you handle permits and inspections?+
Yes, where footings, walls or right-of-way work require them, we pull the permit and meet the inspector, paperwork lands in your folder.
Mix, base & finish
What mix do you actually pour?+
4,000-PSI air-entrained for exterior flatwork, higher where engineering asks, from plants we know, batched for the weather that day. The ticket goes in your folder.
How do you decide base depth?+
Soil and loads. Portland clay wants more base than gravel ground, and an RV pad wants more than a walkway. We probe on the site visit and size the section honestly.
Will the new slab match my old concrete?+
New concrete is brighter for a season, we can tint toward the neighbors or lean into the contrast with a saw-cut border. Weather closes most of the gap within a year.
Which finish fits my project?+
Tap through the Finish Studio above, broom, trowel, stamped slate, exposed aggregate, and the whole page wears each tone. Bring your favorite to the site visit.
Do you haul the old concrete away?+
Same day it breaks, hauled and recycled as clean fill. The site is graded tidy every evening, no rubble pile waiting on a second truck.
Weather, durability & guarantee
How long until I can use it?+
Walk on it in 24 to 48 hours, park on it in seven days, full strength at 28. We leave a simple cure card with the dates for your slab on the fridge-magnet level of clarity.
Why do some driveways crack in year two?+
Thin slabs, skipped base compaction or joints cut too late. All three are invisible on pour day and certain by the second winter. We do none of them.
Can you pour in Portland rain?+
We plan around fronts, pour under cover of the forecast window, and protect fresh work if a shower surprises. Freezing weather waits, concrete does not forgive it.
Is the Care Plan worth it?+
For most homes, yes: an annual inspection, free scuff and touch-up visits, priority scheduling, and 15% off future projects typically pay for the membership the first time you use it, and keep every finish looking new.
